
Earth Day is April 22 and there are many ways in which to celebrate: planting a tree, starting a compost box, recycling and much more but, shouldn’t we be celebrating Earth Day every day? The answer is and should most defiantly be—yes!
However, although we are all in agreement that as residents of this beautiful planet earth, we should treat each day as earth day by helping to protect and prolong the planet for future generations it is rare that we each do our part. So, in honor of this earth day (and in hopes of making earth day everyday) we decided to share some of our favorite and easy tips to help the celebration last all year long!
-Take baths versus showers, as baths use less water.
-Wash hair every 2 days if possible. This helps to cut the amount of water used to shower in half!
-Save a tree and pay your bills online
-Purchase environmental friendly makeup
-Unplug appliances when they are not being used (an appliance still used power just by being plugged in)
-Save water by only washing full loads of laundry and dishes
-Purchase a reusable water bottle—use in place of plastic bottles
-Use cloth diapers (this helps save LOTS of money and the environment)
-Purchase a tote bag which can be used for: grocery shopping, pool bag, book bag, and much more!
-While waiting for water to reach a hot temperature use a bucket to catch cold water and use to water plants.
-If your apartment or neighborhood does not have a recycle option—start your own!
-Find your local recycling center, there are many helpful website to help you do so—like this one.
-Use empty glass jars as cups or flower vases.
-Donate old clothes, shoes, home appliances—don’t throw them away!
-Buy clothing made out of organic material
There are many ways to help out that do not take much time, just a little effort. By taking some time out of your day to help beautiful mother earth you could be helping to insure that future generations will have the chance to enjoy this wonderful place we call home. Take a stance—make earth day every day!
