The Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation is one of the biggest and widest-recognized breast cancer research organizations in the nation. Now, the organization launches the Promise Me fragrance, set to be available in April in an eau de parfum ($59) and an eau de toilette ($20-$30).

Promise Me Komen Fragrance

"My sister was always passionate about fragrance," said Nancy Brinker, sister of the late Susan Komen, and author of the book Promise Me, about the organization. The Komen Foundation hopes to raise $1 million from sales, but it's worth noting that just 13.5 percent of the net sales will go to the foundation.

The scent is a floral oriental that will include notes of blood orange, bergamot, mandarin, aldehyde, pink peony, black current, rosewood, wild orchid, white patchouli, and musk.

This is planned to be the first of many fragrances, with a new one launching each October. Grab your Promise Me while you can!

What do you think? Is this a breast cancer product you can get behind, or is it just marketing hype?

I think most women that use perfume are familiar with it already but I don't know if the "breast cancer" mark on it will gonna count much compared to how it smells, that's the final test. I don't care much about the brand name as long as I can verify if the product has the finest quality for the price I'm paying. That's how I decided for a really nice Armani she perfume, that's how I generally buy perfume, the tone of the fragrance is all that matters to me.
