Target is teaming up with owners of several specialty shops to sell affordable, limited edition merchandise. The first launch is Jason Wu for Target. Jason Wu is best known for the beautiful Gown he designed for Michelle Obama for the inauguration. Jason Wu for Target is set for a February 5 launch. Then in May, Target will unveil "The Shops at Target," a series of design partnerships with small boutique businesses.
Then, 25 Targets stores will launch Apple mini-stores which will sell Apple's iPhones, iPads and other products in Target stores. Candice Corlett, president of the consulting firm WSL Stargetic Retail told the Daily News, “Target is doing what Target does best, and that’s to create alliances with desirable brand names.” Target has not specified which stores will get the Apple mini-stores.
