Say the word "peel" in conjunction with beauty and I think back to junior high, when girls first started learning about skincare and we all used those hideously-colored masques and peels to "better" our still unblemished complexions. I mean, didn't you use that stuff that looked the exact same as Elmer's glue when you let that dry on skin and peel it off? Gross.
Despite my preteen misadventures, I tried Elemental Herbology's Facial Glow Radiance Peel. The British cult-classic skincare line is free of all the bad stuff I try to avoid: no synthetics, no parabens, no sulfates, plus committed to fair trade, sustainability, and recycling. Beyond the company's good name, the Facial Glow Radiance Peel defied every misconception I had, leaving my skin somehow exfoliated, hydrated, and, quite literally radiant. It is awesome.
You place some of the Facial Glow Radiance Peel on your face and it immediately feels different—it has lumps in it, so it almost feels more like an exfoliant than a peel. Then you wait just four minutes (perfect for impatient people like me who don't have the time to be running around in a milky-white face mask!) and wash off. They suggest using a washcloth, I just splashed water and used my hands. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that I didn't feel like I needed lotion, my skin was so hydrated!
I was also positively glowing. Not shiny, not red, not ruddy, but radiant. The radiance peel is infused with a tropical cocktail of vitamins, enzymes, and skin-brightening botanicals to help exfoliate dead surface cells, stimulate cell metabolism and harmonize the skin tone to create a radiant and glowing complexion. It's a super fun product that didn't dry my skin out at all! It's a bit expensive, but if your skin lacks radiance, this might be worth the splurge!
