Prodcut Review: Hard Candy Blush Crush Baked Blush
0

For someone who has very pale skin such as myself, you can imagine the importance blush plays in my everyday beauty routine. I’ve got blush, I’ve got bronzer—you name it, I’ve got it. I am always looking for a new blush to try that will really give my cheeks that rich color that I so desperately need. I was excited to try Hard Candy Blush Crush Baked Blush, and I’m here to tell you that even though it may look light in the container, this blush is full of rich color.

When I got some of the Hard Candy Blush Crush Baked Blush on my blush applicator, I thought I was going to have to put a lot on just to get the color I desired. However, this blush is very rich and a little really does go a long way. It’s the perfect color to give me a cute, romantic glow without looking like I have a ton of blush on.  I did feel the need to touch up my blush a couple of times throughout the day, but it was one quick sweep across my cheeks and my color was instantly restored (and that may be because I am so unnaturally pale to begin with, so you may not have that problem).

The Hard Candy Blush Crush Baked Blush can be applied dry or wet, which I appreciate, though I found it easier to apply on a dry brush. There’s also quite a bit of blush in the container, so I know it will last me a while—especially since I don’t have to use as much. If you’re looking for a great blush that’s got plenty of color for a great price (only $7 at Wal-Mart!), I definitely recommend this!

Ingredients: Mica, Talc, Mineral Oil, Dimethicone, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben. May contain: Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499)

Product Review: Revolution Organics Freedom Glow Beauty Balm
2.5

I'm all about multi-tasking. So you can imagine the appeal of "all-in-one" products, or things that are "multi-purpose" or promise to save the day with one fell swoop. When I decided to try the Revolution Organics Freedom Glow Beauty Balm (in "Blushed"), I was hoping for one of those magical beauty sticks that works perfectly wherever you apply it. Unfortunately, it didn't quite measure up to my expectations.

The  Revolution Organics Freedom Glow Beauty Balm says it's "the ultimate beauty multi-tasker. Glide on lips, cheeks, forehead, nose, decollete--anywhere you want to add an instant healthy moisture-infused glow." Sounds perfect, right?

I first decided to try it on my cheeks--I'm all about the blush (got to perk up my pale skin!). At first, it seemed to have a cute, rosy color. But as the day wore on, I noticed that the color faded, and what was left was a splotchy mess. No longer were my cheeks nice and colorful; it looked as though I had applied a cheap grease blush and it had been rubbed off, little by little, all day. I was so turned off I decided to avoid using it anywhere else on my face--I wouldn't have ever put it on my nose or forehead anyway.

I did, however, try the Revolution Organics Freedom Glow Beauty Balm on my lips. Now that is something I can say I liked about this product. It gave my lips a cute, pretty pink color that wasn't sticky or clumpy in the least. Under a little bit of gloss or Chapstick, and I really liked the way it looked. It didn't feel like I was wearing lipstick, though it gave me just as good of a color.

I think if I had tried the Revolution Organics Freedom Glow Beauty Balm in one of the other neutral colors, it could have worked well, using it to highlight cheekbones and chest. I do love that Revolution Organics products are free of synthetics, chemicals, parabens, sulfates, mineral oil, artificial ingredients, and petrochemicals. I just wish this was one organic beauty product that I wanted to keep on using.
