Product Review: LORAC-Evening Out Complexion Kit
4

Get ready ladies, this all-in-one foundation compact is perfect for touch-ups on the go! LORAC has just launched a fabulous new foundation-concealer combo, complete with application brushes and a snazzy gun metal case. I will admit that when I read it was a complexion kit, I thought that it would come with many separate parts. I was excited when I realized it was one compact with two “secret” compartments to hold the brushes and concealer. It also comes with a mirror that I could actually see myself in!

Okay, the case the complexion kit comes in is fabulous. So, what about the foundation and concealer? The kit comes in three complexion shades to include: light, medium, and tan. I personally chose the light kit, with it being the winter season my skin has not seen the sun in a while.

When I tried the concealer I realized it popped out of the front like a little drawer. The little “hidden drawer” contained two shades of paraben-free concealer. I used the application brush to apply the concealer under my eyes, chin, and forehead. The concealer went on easily and I did not have to keep re-applying it to get adequate coverage.

The next step was powder. I pulled out the cute little powder sponge and began to apply. Wow! The sponge was so unbelievably soft I could not help but smile, and maybe apply more powder than I needed.

All-in-all, this duo complexion kit is fantastic and has scored a place in my “evening-out” purse; hopefully it can earn a spot in yours as well! You can purchase this sleek compact for $38 on the LORAC website (not a bad price for two concealers, a powder, two brushes, a mirror, and gun metal case).

Product Review: Koh Gen Do Triple-Lighting Foundation
3

I was immediately interested in the Koh Gen Do Triple-Lighting Foundation when I saw “Cinema Quality” written on the box. Before I used it I did a little research and found out it is designed to allow your skin to look its best under any lighting with its three individually shaped powder particles. The particles are also infused with Asian botanical extracts that nourish as they spread lightly and evenly over your skin.

The Koh Gen Do Triple-Lighting Foundation comes in a sleek little compact with the powder foundation and a little application sponge. Like the instructions said, I applied the foundation after I prepped my skin with moisturizer. Koh Gen Do recommends you use the foundation over makeup base, but since I didn’t have any makeup base or like to wear a lot of heavy makeup, I applied the foundation as I would my powder.

I liked how the foundation went on. It had a little more coverage than powder, but wasn’t as heavy as liquid foundation. My skin looked smooth and even and didn’t feel weighed down! I’m not sure if my skin actually looked “cinema quality,” but it did look great. Maybe all that science behind the makeup really does make a difference!

Active Ingredient: 13.2% Titanium Dioxide

*No artificial colors, fragrance or petroleum-based mineral oil

Product Review: Hissyfit's Anti-Aging Foundation
0

When I first chose to review Hissyfit’s Saving Face anti-aging foundation (with SPF 50!), I was a little skeptical because it’s a liquid foundation, and I’ve been using mineral makeup for a few years. I was scared that it was going to be heavy, cakey, and break my face out. But it didn’t do any of those things (and I’m thrilled about it!).

The Hissyfit Saving Face foundation feels super creamy and smooth, and it goes on my face even smoother. It conceals all of my flaws and even made my pesky crow’s feet wrinkles seemingly disappear! It smells just like sunscreen, which I love, and it contains ingredients like pomegranate and green tea (antioxidants), which I love even more! The box the foundation comes in even promises to be “the perfect weapon against sun and environmental damage.”

The foundation is a natural 3-in-1 formula that flawlessly covers your skin, provides sun protection, and even has anti-aging benefits. With all of those benefits, how can you say no? I couldn’t!
