I love being out in the sun, but I do not overdo it and I'm constantly applying sunscreen. One problem I have over and over again though is that my part will always get red. I've even started spraying sunscreen into my hair (doesn't leave it feeling the best) directly onto my part, but I can't seem to stop a sunburn

That's why I was excited to take the hat from Scala Collezione with me to the river last Saturday! After a full day in the sun, I could not be more happy with the results the hat provided -- no sunburned part! Plus, it's super cute and stylish. I actually got a ton of compliments on it. That, with the added UPF 50+ protection? I could not ask for a better hat!

I would definitely recommend this to anyone who will be out in the sun for a long period of time! You can purchase this hat online at Dorfman-Pacific.com.

Caviar Anti-Aging Overnight Hair Rescue

Whenever I use hair treatments, I am a little apprehensive. But when I tried Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Overnight Rescue, I was excited that the directions were different than just putting on the treatment in the shower and waiting five minutes to rinse. For this product, the directions entail applying at night onto dry hair before going to bed (focusing on damaged areas), and then washing it out in the morning.

Right before bed, I ran the product through my hair and was overwhelmed by the scent! Not that it is necessarily bad, just really powerful. I wrapped my hair in a bun and went to sleep. After waking up, the first thing I did was hop in the shower and I noticed my hair did feel softer and more hydrated. I repeated the process for the next three nights, and my hair does feel softer and my ends are not as dry.

I loved that it did help my hair, which definitely feels a lot less damaged from flatirons, curling irons, and hair dye. The treatment is also free of parabens, gluten, mineral oils, and phthalates and is safe for colored hair. The only complaint I have about the product is the smell, which can be avoided by wrapping hair in a bun after putting the treatment in.

argan magic
4.5

I recently got an amazing new haircut and highlight done to my hair and have since vowed to take better care of my lovely locks. I was anxious to try Argan Magic Restorative Hair Mask, a hair conditioning mask which claims to help repair damage caused to hair by harsh chemicals and environmental stresses (a hair mask? I had never tried this). Although I had recently gotten a haircut, I figured this would help my new highlights stay intact as well as provide my hair with some much-needed moisture in this cold, dry weather.

The directions on the jar advise you to shampoo and towel dry your hair prior to applying the Argan Magic Restorative Hair Mask. I did just that. I shampooed my hair, toweled it dry, and then applied the mask (which smelled elegant and rich, like a fancy salon). I found out the scrumptious scent was a blend of orange blossoms and pomegranate. The directions then advise you to leave the mask on your hair for five to ten minutes (tip: brushing your hair with a fine tooth comb will help spread the mask, I don’t have a fine tooth comb so I used my fingers). After about five or six minutes passed I rinsed the product out my hair with warm water. After toweling it dry, I decided not to put my usual products in my hair (anti-frizz serum) because I wanted to see the results the product produced on its own.

Time for the results … drum roll please? I loved it, my hair felt silky, soft, and healthy! I think this product is wonderful and ideal for restoring damaged hair or keeping healthy hair intact. I will say that if you normally use products in your hair after shampooing and conditioning, like anti-frizz products, using them after this product would still be okay. I have naturally wavy-frizzy hair so I think my usual product combined with this mask would have been perfect. You can purchase Argan Magic Restorative Hair Mask for about $12 on their website (what a steal!).
