Product Review: Wildly Natural Seaweed Powder Bath
4

I used to love a relaxing bath, but my life lately has been too busy to indulge in baths. However, when the lovely folks at The Seaweed Bath Co. sent over a basket of seaweed products, including the Wildly Natural Seaweed Powder Bath with Hawaiian Kukui Oil in Lavender, I had the excuse I needed!

Allison: I have been in need of a relaxing bath too. Plus, I know how good seaweed is for your skin and body, so I was excited to try it out.

The Wildly Natural Seaweed Powder Bath products combine hand-harvested, brown seaweed with moisturizing agents, like the organic Kukui Oil found in mine. Kukui is rich in oleic, linoleic and linolenic acids and is a potent natural moisturizer that helps soothe irritated skin. Lavender always reminds me of bedtime, so it was a deciding factor in which flavor of seaweed bath I chose (it also comes in Citrus, Eucalyptus & Peppermint, and Unscented). There is also another oil option, beauty darling argan oil.

The baths are also supposed to be awesome for people with skin conditions. I mainly needed hydration for my winter-dried skin!

So, let the bath begin! I dumped the contents of the brown paper packet into the tub. It looked like this:

Allison: And for your viewing pleasure, this is what it looks like when you are getting it out of the pouch:

Then, I followed the instructions to swirl powder around until dissolved. It looked like this:

Seaweed in the bath tub

Allison: And this is what your bath looks like with the Seaweed Powder Bath inside:

Admittedly, not the most appealing tub of water to get into, but in the name of research I plunged in. I relaxed into water that felt just like normal bath water. It smelled a smidge seaweed-y, but not overwhelming. The instructions say you should stay for 15-30 minutes, I stayed in just 15 (something about that busy life ...). When I got out, my skin was incredibly hydrated. Like, silky smooth to the touch. Not at all dry, but not at all oily. The Wildly Natural Seaweed Powder Bath provides magic hydration!

While it may be ugly to look at, my seaweed bath left my skin super hydrated.

Allison: Not only is it ugly to look at, it's weird when you are in the bath. Have you ever been really dirty and your bath water is dirty when you get out? It was so hard to wrap my mind around the fact that I was not super dirty, but that the water looked like that on purpose! I wasn't a huge fan of the smell either. But agreeing with Lyssa, my skin did feel hydrated after I got out. I could see how this would be a huge relief to somone with skin problems, but for the everyday person, it leaves your skin feeling soft and refreshed!

Product Review: Boots Bath Foam
4.25

I am obsessed with bubble bath and bath foam. Every time I go somewhere, I pick up a different bath foam or bubble bath to try. Needless to say, my bathtub is lined with at least 5 various foams and bubble baths at all times. Let's just say I was very excited to try Boots Bath Foam!

Whenever I try a new bubble bath, I am always very hopeful that it will actually work. Most of them work, but others usually fall by the wayside. I had high hopes for Boots and it did not disappoint!

My bathtub was immediately filled with thick and bubbly foam! Not to mention, the oils in the foam were extremely relaxing and pleasant! I take a bath every night to help unwind, and this was a special treat! It relaxed me, and I actually had to drag myself out of my bathtub. I will definitely be a repeat-user (something very rare for me when it comes to bubble baths)!  Just like the aromatherapy kit by Dr. Hauschka and Dr. Teal's Vapor Bath, I would recommend Boots to my friends and family!

Product Review: Dr. Hauschka Aromatherapy Bath Kit
0

Though I’m alone among my friends in doing so, I take several nice, long baths a week. Sure, showers are quick, but there is definitely something to be said about relaxing with a long, calming bath (thanks, Mom!). I’m always trying different bath salts, oils, and bubble baths, so I was excited when I got to try the Dr. Hauschka Aromatherapy Bath Kit.

The Dr. Hauschka Aromatherapy Bath Kit comes with five different scents of bath oils: lavender, lemon, rosemary, sage, and spruce. My personal favorite was the lavender, but I must admit I am pretty biased—lavender is one of my favorite scents in anything.

After pouring the oil into my bath, I just sat back and soaked it all in. I was surprised at how well the smell of the oil dissipated; I half expected to not be able to smell it after a few minutes. But the scent lasted for my entire bath (and I sat and relaxed for a good while). The oils didn’t irritate my skin or leave me feeling grimy afterward, which was fantastic.

I really enjoyed the Dr. Hauschka Aromatherapy Bath Kit. The smells were strong, (but in a good way) and they really added a different atmosphere to my bath. I liked them better than any drugstore bath oils, that’s for sure.

My favorite scent was lavender. The ingredients are listed below. For a full list of ingredients for each oil, click here.
